Local walks

We intend to offer here details on a wide range of walks in the Thixendale area, which will act as a useful reference to locals and visitors alike. The walks are in the early stages of development, so please keep checking back as the list grows. We will grade the walks by time, difficulty and the best times of the year. There will be photos to help navigation and give an idea of the walks themselves. There will be forms for user feedback so that you, the walkers, can let others know how you found it!

Thixendale / Painsthorpe Wold / Uncleby Wold
2 hours, circular road walk. Great when muddy elsewhere or with a pushchair.

Kirby Underdale / North Wolds Walk
8½ miles circular - 5 dales. Mostly off road, well worthwhile/

Wold House / Wharram Percy / Burdale
8 miles circular. Fine country walking and quiet roads. A 'classic' Thixendale walk.

Huggate / Wayrham / Thixendale
7 miles. Contrast the high Wolds landscape from Huggate with the delights of the dales leading into Thixendale.

Thixendale / Fridaythorpe circular
6 miles. Visit the less familiar dales.
